How Does it Work:?
book your time
We’ll begin by chatting on the phone about you and your family, (and your dogs), and what you love about them. We'll discuss your relationship, the unique elements of your personalities, and thoughts about styling. You'll choose your time on the dates available.
Plan your wardrobe
I will give you guidance on the best clothing choices for classic and traditional portraits that you will always treasure, and enjoy on your walls!
groom your pets
Make sure to get your pets ready for their spotlight moment as well!
enjoy your session
I will expertly guide your family through every pose, as well as posing your dogs, so you both look your best! I will help you feel comfortable and truly enjoy the experience from start to finish.
order your artwork
I'll prepare all of the images from the session for a slideshow of all of the best portraits of the day and I'll guide you through choosing your favorites and design your wall art and album or any other products that interest you. We will set a Zoom appointment for the following week, which will be quick and easy!
Artwork delivery
Any digital images you purchase will be ready after professional retouching is complete, and art products can take anywhere from 2-3 weeks depending on what is ordered.
faq
What would I need to bring to the session?
Arrive wearing your planned outfits, including shoes and jewelry and appropriate lingerie for your outfit (bra, slip, etc.). Arrive with hair and makeup ready.
For your dog, bring any special treats or food they can eat, anything that will get their attention, and possibly a friend who can help you by holding your dog or watching them when needed. Also, bring your nicest collar and thinnest leash, or purchase a show lead from Amazon or a pet store.
What do I wear?
Please see the separate guide for exactly what to wear, and resources available.
In general, the most recommended outfits include solid colors and long sleeves, textures and layers are great though. Don't forget about shoes that will look good with your outfit, usually black and brown are best. Don't wear white shoes.
what if I'm nervous?
Many people are nervous before their session, that's totally normal. I will help you feel less nervous very quickly and you'll realize you're having fun. Try to keep calm for your dog's benefit, however, so your nerves aren't transmitted to them! I promise, you will all do great!
I will guide you through all the posing and interaction with each other.
what if my dog is a little crazy?
If possible, plan to have someone come to assist you with your dog. Try to take your dog for a walk to get a little tired before the session. Your dog will be contained in the barn. We'll let them sniff around and get comfortable, and be slow and patient as needed.
can i add a horse to my session?
If you would like to use one of my horses in your session, there is a lot of prep involved as well as a dedicated assistant, so there is an additional charge of $199. Make sure to give me advance notice.
when do I see my pictures?
Your photos will be ready in the week following your session starting on Tuesday. We will schedule a 30 minute Zoom meeting to select your favorite poses and order your artwork.
